The technique of Oral Sedation begins about an hour prior to your dental appointment. A sedative pill is administered to the patient and after a short period of time you will then become very relaxed. A companion will accompany you to the practice and on arrival you will be escorted into the comfort room. You will be covered with a thick, warm blanket and your vital signs monitored.
Once you are completely relaxed, Dr. Dougherty and the experienced clinical team at Dougherty Dental Care will look after all of your dental needs. You will awake feeling refreshed and have no memory of the procedure or experiencing any pain. After the treatment has been completed, your companion will then return you home.
Oral Sedation is a contemporary technique that is completely safe for patients. Dependent on your needs your Oral Sedation can last between 2 and 6 hours. To ensure your safety, please organize a companion to bring and take you from the practice.
